yum yums

so a while ago, calvin was refusing to nurse.
(i found a little toothie in his mouth today - making these feeding strikes make more sense)
i decided to give solids another try and opened up some sweet potatoes.
i dragged his new high chair out of the corner.
placed his chubby legs through the holes.
plastic bib around neck.
tub of potatoes in the microwave for 15 seconds on half power.
mixed it up.
tested the temperature.
gave it a go.
and
c
loved
it!
he ate the whole tub.
fast forward about a week and a half.
cal had been eating all sorts of yummy foods, digesting them well, and filling his diapers.
smiles.
one day i decided to let him try bananas.

lots of mmmms.
his face practically attacking the spoon.
a few sour faces.
he was thrilled
so i fed him some more.
and the next day; more bananas.

well who knew bananas are constipating?
not this nursing school graduate who thinks she is almost ready to take the nclex.
poor kid.
one suppository, 10 days, and lots of prune juice later,
we think he is back on track.

also, relating to food...
baby c has a love hate relationship with peas and green beans.
one day he will scarf them down, the next refuse to even look at them.
so i decided to let him use them as finger paint.
the jar can only be open for a certain number of days before going bad.
anyways.
he had fun.
and the clean up wasn't too bad.

Sawyer was obsessed with bananas too! That's so cute! Plus I love the high chair and his cute little rolls!

It is so fun to see Calvin grow up! He is a doll! I remember when my babies were that small. And I didn't have a blog back then but know it would have gotten neglected for the same reasons... nursing school and kids. Good luck with nclex! You will do awesome.
