november 8

november 8, 2008:
i took this picture of josh at one of his flag football games.
we had been dating for 5 months (9 if you count romania).
this quickly became one of my favorite photos of him...

fast forward......
november 8, 2010:
sorry to bring that picture back, but can you believe it has been a year since i found out i was pregnant with baby c?
think about it, we was the size of a poppy seed back then.
it still amazes me everyday, that josh and i created this little man.

fast forward...

november 8, 2011:
today i took cal to the cardiologist.
it seems like he has a small ventricular septal defect
we did not have an ultrasound done because cal was too active -
(he was literally laughing hysterically at the nurse when she took his vitals and then proceeded to blow out on the examination table while the doctor was listening to his heart, and was singing/cooing/grunting and kicking his legs away in between)
all of his vitals were perfect, and his chest x-ray showed no enlargement.
we are going to continue to watch him and we will have another check up with the cardiologist in 6 months, and possibly do an echo then.
most likely this little hole will go away on it's own.

being a nurse is a blessing, but a curse.
i love having the knowledge and understanding of the human body, and being able to talk medically with the doctors and understand everything... but
i also know all that can go wrong..
for example, last year, the day i found out i was pregnant we had our lecture on miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies.
anxiety provoking? heck yes!
and recently, i kept glancing at calvin and 'seeing' that his lips were blue... but they weren't!

i am SO grateful that everything went well today,
and pray that he will continue growing big and strong.

I was wondering why you were at the hospital. I wish I could have eaten lunch with you! I'm glad Cal is fine :)

Whitney I love the November pictures, such a cute idea. I didn't know that about C... My mom was actually born with the same thing. Hope everything works out :)
