3 weeks

cal is turning into a little man more and more everyday.

it is amazing to watch him grow and develop.

his personality is so fun.

he is already very curious, and loves to be where the action is.

for example when mom tries to cook dinner (or eat breakfast, or fix lunch),

he hears the noises and wants to be held..

which works until it comes time to cut the raw meat.

to me babies and raw meat don't mix.

needless to say dinner wasn't ready when dad got home, but that's okay.

this church outfit is pretty big on him, but he still looked so handsome.

we went to talk to a lactation lady this week.

i was getting pretty anxious thinking about going back to school, and having to pump.

it was really nice to talk to someone and hear that my game plan was right on.

i don't know why i doubt myself sometimes.

anyways, we stripped cal down and got his measurements to see how well he was eating.

at 3 weeks and 2 days his length and weight were the same, but he weighed in at

8 pounds 3 ounces.

she said he was a little chubby for his height.. but that it was good because

cal loves to eat and 

we love chubby babies!

perfect.

despite all this growing, i am loving that he is still a newborn.

i can swaddle him up and cuddle with him all day.

i should nap when he naps, but how can i when there is so much to do?

like:

kiss his cheeks a million more times.

count his toes, and then recount them.

swirl his hair in my fingers, or smell his baby shampoo.

rub his soft feet, and tickle his buddha belly.

sing him songs.

rock him back and forth, 

or side to side.

 but mostly, i just stare at him

and

marvel that he is mine.
