i had my weekly midwives appointment today.
i was really excited to go.
i have been having lots more contractions lately,
and life has gotten pretty darn uncomfortable..
i thought those were signs that we were getting close.
i was hoping/expecting she'd say, 'yep, he's almost here!'
but instead we talked about what would happen if i made it to 41 weeks.
41 weeks = no bueno.
that's 7 more sleepless nights, and 7 more sweaty days.
that's 7 more sleepless nights, and 7 more sweaty days.
my midwife was optimistic, and told me not to worry.
'things can change overnight'
i couldn't help but be a little bummed.
i know he'll come when he's ready.
it doesn't matter that there's an empty play pen next to my bed,
or that all the bottles are sanitized and organized.
i need to be more patient,
and find more ways to nest,
or i might go bonkers in these last few weeks.

whittle! did you get my phone call? or have you changed your number? i need your address so i can send you your belated baby present! email me. or call me.
The last appointment I had with my OB before delivering my first, the doctor said, "We need to talk about what happens when you go over your due date." I was so sad, but happy when I delivered four days later! I was a week and a half early. I hope it goes that way for you too! Things really can change quickly! Good Luck!
