now for the real meaning

hope everyone enjoyed the little throw back post.. but on a more serious note...
i love this time of year, where we reflect back on the true meaning of Christmas:
Christ
what a wonderful gift to mankind. born in a lowly manger.
we had a really great christmas devotional yesterday for a relief society activity and it was just the spiritual boost i needed.
this year, things have been a little wild. i haven't even started my christmas shopping (usually, i am done by now), i feel like i have miles to go before i am prepared for my finals, we have no christmas cards to send out... i could go on and on.
but you know what?
none of that really matters.
what matters are the eternal things. my love for my family and friends. my testimony of the gospel. the truth taught by the little baby who grew up and atoned for all our sins. even more than that He atoned for all our pains, sufferings, heartaches, and stresses. what a powerful blessing the restored gospel is!
i love this song by amy grant.
it is a song from mary's perspective as she brought sweet baby Jesus into the world.
i love how human it makes her sound.
she was nervous, and had feelings of inadequacy and fear about the responsibility of such a precious child,
but she turned to the Lord for strength, comfort, and confidence.

“and she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger”
(Luke 2:6–7).

I'm glad you enjoyed the activity. I love Christmas time too. Sometimes it's hard to take a step back from all the craziness and remember the true spirit of the season. I'm glad you're able to do that. :)
