Today was race day. And guess what, I did it.. Even after dealing with a grouchy baby from midnight till 3 am.. When my alarm was set for 3:12. Good thing I went to bed at 8:00. The experience was a bit unreal.. 7 thousand people getting up at o dark thirty to run their guts out. There were crowded buses involved with quirky drivers.. Lots of tiny fire pits.. Tin foil blankets.. Porta-potties.. A crazy wind for the first few miles.. Potty break at mile 6. A few bananas, oranges, a gu and an otter pop.. Not to mention red powerade splashing all over my face.. And how I managed to drop my cup of water as I went to take a sip.. Twice... Seeing black spots around mile 12.. Being taunted by the finish line for what felt like an hour... Seeing my family and hearing their cheers.. Sprinting triumphantly at the end... And then trying to keep down all the above mentioned food/drinks plus a chocolate milk at the end.. Thank goodness for Sharsti for sticking with me and for all the support of my family. Well my baby has sufficiently been rocked to sleep and I am dieing for a nice soak in the tub. I will post again with pictures.. You know you want to see my sweaty post 13.1 mile bod.
