one month!!

calvin is one month today!
it is crazy how fast this month has gone.
look at how much he's grown:
one month
newborn
you can definitely see lots of growth in those sweet leggies.
he is out of the newborn diapers.
and by doing the hold him on the scale trick we are pretty sure he's nine pounds now.
and we measured him at 20.5 inches.
as you can tell from the picture, he is a lot more alert, and almost playful.
he definitely knows what he likes and doesn't like, and lets us know.
he loves it when we rub his feet.
he is not a fan of his carseat - which is making things a little rough.
he loves looking out the windows, especially the one in his room.
dad fed him from a bottle yesterday (breastmilk), and he did great.
...
(sidenote: i have been very lucky that calvin is such a good 'sucker' - so much so he has a little blister on his lip right now :(. he has been eating well since the beginning. with a good latch and the use of newman's ointment, i've also been very lucky to not blister or crack, and was only sore those first few days.. my only challenge has been pumping. i have been trying to pump to start storing up for when i go back to school.. but i hardly get anything.. like 3 oz total on a good sitting. i fear that will not be enough for a growing boy. hopefully i can figure this out)
...
anyways, back to cal
he went to the park for the first time the other day (pictures to come).
he still loves to cuddle and be held.
his cheeks jiggle from the vibrations in the car.
he grabs onto the neckline of my shirt whenever he can.
he is always squeaking, or grunting, or growling, and recently started cooing.
sometimes he snores.
...
we love him more and more everyday, and are excited to see what this next month will bring!

He's such a cutie! I love that our babies are so close in age because it sounds like so much of what Calvin is doing is what Paige is doing too (grabbing my shirt, snoring occasionally..:) Can't believe they're already 1 month!

He is growing so fast! What a stud. I had to do the pumping thing too, since I was in school when Liv was born and I had the same problem. I would get anywhere from 2 to 4 oz. at first, but then I started getting 6 oz total after a few weeks of pumping regularly. As she got older, it wasn't enough for her and after about 5 months I had to supplement with formula. I still feel it was worth it to give her the breastmilk as long as I could. Pumping while breastfeeding is hard and extremely time consuming, but hang in there! It will be over before you know it.
