this is kind of an old video that i recently rediscovered.

i think this was c's last bath in the sink. 

because by the end of his bath, there was more water on the counter, floor, and all over me than there was in the sink.

cal 8 months old

cheerios

recently, c has really grabbed hold of eating finger foods. 

(grabbed hold... get it?)

anyways, he loves eating puffs, cheerios, and peas. 

after lots of practice, his little pinchers can pick up just about anything, 

and you can often find him scratching at the tiniest things on the floor.

on one sunny saturday, we met up with cousins at the big park in alpine.

aquarium

a few weeks ago, we went to the living planet aquarium for a combined party for my brother and grandma's birthday.

josh was in california for work, so cal's grandpa, and great grandpa helped carry him around to see the fishes, penguins, and otters.

 before the party, we had a 'girls day of fun' with mom, ali, and sharsti, and shopped for easter clothes for the boys.

sharsti won the aunt of the year award for helping me clean cal up from an awful blow out.

snot nose

sometimes being a baby is hard.

good thing i have a sweet daddy to cuddle with.

(baby c teething = fever, snot nose, grumpiness, extra cuddly)

so these owl pictures are getting more and more difficult to stage...

 so i think they will be candid from here on out:

 

8 months    /        7 months

at 8 months calvin:

- has moved to 2 naps during the day (one at 9 and one at 3)

- has started following simple directions like: give me five.. or give me kisses :).. or not in your mouth.

- will clap his hands when you do.

- loves being the center of attention.

- loves books!

- loves playing with mom's necklace

- will mimic sounds we make (blowing raspberries, saying ah, or la la la)

- can army crawl sideways resulting in a circle.

- knows how to work his toys (pushes buttons, turns pages, puts the ball in the hole)

- if he wants to go forward he rolls over and scootches on his back, giving him a bald spot right above his rat's tail, and driving mom crazy (to give him a buzz or not to.. that's the question).

- is getting 2 more teeth (his upper lateral incisors.. kinda weird)

- drooling lots again :(

- has become a much better solids eater, but still doesn't want a lot.

- can pick up and eat those little baby puffs.. but doesn't really like them.

- mastered the sippy cups with straws

- loves to play with his soccer ball, especially with dad.

- loves being outside (takes after his mum).

- is cute and cuddly when he's sleepy.

- sings along when you sing (making church very interesting).

- tries to sit up in his car seat.

sure love being his mom!
