6:45 am

is what time we woke up this morning to make it to work and school by 8:00.
we scraped our cars...
okay j scraped both of them - he wanted to, i promise...
we kissed, and parted ways.
on my way to school, i was listening to this song on repeat.
(you can just press play and keep reading - the video is not my favorite)

o, how i love that song.
the words,
the melody....
(i am such a sucker for good music)
anyways, i was singing along and driving to school.
i turned the corner and saw this:

my little camera phone really does not give this sunrise any justice.
i am also a very big fan of sunrises.
on a plane ride... over oceans... over mountains, anywhere.
my mom used to sing me a song before bed;
it's a primary song.
the words talk all about this beautiful earth and how God created it for us,
because he loves us.
i am so grateful for breath-taking moments
like this morning
that allow all the hustle and bustle to pause,
and i get to enjoy the reverence of a beautiful earth.

i have always admired ralph waldo emerson. i especially love his discourses on nature. my sites this morning caused me to open up my r.w.e book and reread this engaging text. here is a link where you can read, if you want: click here. and here are a few quotes i like:

"to speak truly, few adult persons can see nature. most persons do not see the sun. at least they have a very superficial seeing. the sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and the heart of the child. the lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; who has retained the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood. his [association] with heaven and earth, becomes part of his daily food. in the presence of nature, a wild delight runs through the man, in spite of real sorrows."

"
to the attentive eye, each moment of the year has its own beauty, and in the same field, it beholds, every hour, a picture which was never seen before, and which shall never be seen again."

"the presence of a higher, namely, of the spiritual element is essential to its perfection. The high and divine beauty which can be loved without effeminacy, is that which is found in combination with the human will. beauty is the mark God sets upon virtue. every natural action is graceful."

Beautiful Whit! The music and the sunrise and your words. Thanks for posting that. (your camera did not do the sunrise justice I am sure... every picture I seem to take of things like that never turn out how magnificent it really is. It is just something you have to end up remembering in your mind.) How much nursing school do you still have? What area of nursing do you want to go into?
