so. i have been training for a half marathon right?
well.. thanks to my sil, sharsti, i not only signed up for and started training, but have come to really enjoy it.
am i weird that i like the longer runs better than the shorter ones?
i love finding new routes and exploring orem city, usa.
sharsti and i have gone on 2 long runs together (10m & 11m) and it makes it even more fun.
we chit chat the whole time and the run is over in no time - plus i seem to get my best times with her.
josh's sisters, katie and emily, are running the race too,
and i have lots of friends who will be there as well.
june 9th will be a fun day.
some things i have learned about running:

june 9th will be a fun day.
some things i have learned about running:
- there are some awesome resources online like mapmyrun.com and dailymile.com
- gu/powerbar gel: vanilla = no bueno. the citrusy ones = ok
- spitting while running is a must for me.. i know so nasty. i agree. and i also agree with this lady. it is an art that takes lots of practice.
- having 3 flat tires on the jogging stroller is a great way to strength train, but not the best for running.
- okay this one may be tmi, but peeing while running is a pretty common thing... especially for someone who recently had a baby who severed nerve endings innervating her bladder.
anyways, this has gotten much better than when i first started training, but i still map my routes based on public restrooms... i have also has lots of practice doing this as quickly as possible to avoid lowering my heart rate and prolonging my time.
- i live in the perfect place to run. i can run as far as i want and avoid any hills if i wanted to. the west side = the flat side.
- running in 50 degree weather is amazing. it is a little chilly to start but it feels so good once you get going.
- running in the morning is way better than at night.
- during our 11m run last week, we burnt over 1000 calories - needs no further explanation.

well there are a few of my running thoughts.
i will leave you with this adorable/funny video about running.

Ah I'm so glad you are enjoying it. I can't wait for race day!! we're gonna have a lot of fun=)
That's awesome you're doing so much running. I really wish I enjoyed it. But I don't. I loathe it. I loved you talk about spitting (which I totally do when I run or play competitive sports...yes, gross) and peeing. I think the peeing thing would be rough on me now post baby and pregnant again. Eek! :)
Way to be Whit!! Good luck on the half!
That is awesome that you doing a 1/2 marathon! I am doing one just a few days before you! I think it's cool that we had babies the same week and now we will both be doing a 1/2 the same week! Good luck :) Oh and I love all the stuff your wrote about- totally agree with you!
